I'm in the kitchen, enjoying the calm before the storm while J gives the kiddies a bath downstairs. This week is going to be insane. Tomorrow, we both have a paper due and a written exam (for the same class, the bastard)... not so worried about it - I only have 9 pages of 20 written, but my plan is pretty comprehensive so it's just a question of

It took a few weeks, but I finally got some feedback on the banana bread.
J's mom: "Your banana bread was outstanding." Polyphila: "Really??? YAAAAY!!! Wow!!!!!!! Go me!" J's mom: "Oh yes. Every dog in the neighbourhood managed to choke it down."
I am pleased to report that I survived Mrs J - more or less unscathed. I only got a marginally hard time about my accent - apparently "speaking English" meant "speaking Alabamese," which is something else again (Best. Accent. I'm actually quite excited about Valentine's Day for a change, but I suspect it's because this year's festivities mainly involve Food.
